Hitting Their Stride
After a slow start to the season for Aamer Muhammad, who was tabbed to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Third Team, he seemed to find his shooting stroke in Troy's victory over SIUE as he knocked down 7-9 shots from the field in route to a season-high 21 points. The guard from Rio Rancho, N.M., was also an efficient 4-5 from 3-point range.
Muhammad was shooting below 30 percent from the field and from distance going into the game and is now shooting 34.3 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from distance. He is the third Trojan now averaging double-digit points.
Christyon Eugene, a preseason first-team selection, continues his impressive start to the season. He is averaging 15.6 points through eight games and has scored in double-figures in every game this season. He's shooting at a very efficient 51.2 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Don't Stop What's Working
One constant that has remained all season for the Trojans has been its ability to dominate on the glass. Troy enters Saturday averaging 43.5 rebounds per game, which is 16th in the country and third in the Sun Belt. When it comes to offensive rebounds, the Trojans are fifth in the country and first in the Sun Belt at 16.38 per game.
In addition to the strong offensive play of Eugene and Muhammad, Troy continues to rely on its depth for offensive production. The Trojan bench is scoring 37.25 points per game, led by Tayton Conerway and his 11.3 points.
The Trojans bench production is the best in the Sun Belt and fifth in the country.
Scouting Dayton

Holmes II was named to the First Team Preseason All-Atlantic 10 and All-Defensive Team. He was also named to the preseason Naismith and Wooden National Player of the Year lists.
Dayton was scheduled to take on UNLV on Wednesday, but the game was canceled. The Flyers have won their last three contests.
