"Our goal, as always, is to have the most raucous and supportive fan base in college baseball, so we can't wait to see the Trojan faithful come out in droves starting on Feb. 16," head coach Skylar Meade said.
Troy opens its 2024 campaign against a first-time opponent in SIUE with opening day on Feb. 16 at the newly renovated Riddle-Pace Field. The series lasts until Feb. 18 and includes a doubleheader on Feb. 17. Then, the team travels to face the defending SWAC champions, Florida A&M, for the first road trip on Feb. 20.
For the second straight season, the Trojans invite an Ivy League program in Harvard (Feb. 23-25), followed by Kent State (Feb. 27-28) for a five-game home stretch.
The following 12 games see Troy hit the road from March 1 – 19. They open the road trip against Northwestern State (March 1-3) before traveling back to where 2023 ended in Tuscaloosa to face the Crimson Tide of Alabama on March 6.
From March 8-10, the Trojans travel north to the state of Indiana to face the Hoosiers and mark the third 2023 NCAA Regional opponent scheduled for 2024 – play a total of seven (FAMU, Coastal Carolina, Auburn, Samford, Indiana, Louisiana, Alabama).
"Our non-conference this season takes us on the road to play NCAA tourney teams like Samford, Florida A&M, Auburn, Alabama and Indiana," Meade said. "At home, the Trojan faithful will see many great programs come in with a culmination of Alabama in the beginning of May."
Auburn marks the fourth 2023 NCAA Regional opponent, scheduled for March 12 to mark the end of the full non-conference schedule. That's when Troy travels to ULM to open the Sun Belt Conference schedule from March 15-17.
"'The 24'" slate is one similar to the past two years that balances a challenging mix of home, road and conference battles to put us in the right positions nationally come May," Meade said. "The Sun Belt is a top 5 league in the country, so you know there are no off days when you look at the 30-game slate."
UAB on March 19 concludes the 19-day road trip for the Trojans before they welcome in-state rival South Alabama for a three-game series at RPF (March 22-24).
Game two of the series against FAMU keeps Troy at home before it aims to take down the defending Sun Belt Tournament champions and winners of the 2023 Auburn Regional, Southern Miss, to conclude March (28-30). Two non-conference matches, including the annual matchup against Alabama State in Riverwalk Stadium (April 2) and the beginning of a two-game series against Jacksonville State (April 3), conclude the five-game road stand.
The next two weekends see Troy invite Arkansas State for a 3-game series from April 5-7 before heading to Boone, N.C., looking to avenge its early exit from the SBC Tournament in 2023 against Appalachian State from April 12-14.
A pit stop against former conference foe and the fifth regional team Samford on April 16 sits before hosting Jacksonville State (April 17) and Georgia State for a 3-game battle (April 19-21).
SBC competition continues in Conway, S.C., against the 2016 NCAA Champions Coastal Carolina from April 26-28 before ending the month of April by welcoming Alabama State on April 30.
May furthers the five-game homestand by welcoming Troy's final regional team in Louisiana from May 3-5. Then, the Trojans welcome their last power-five opponent to RPF when Alabama comes to town for a solo battle on May 7.
Troy's final road trip awaits in the Lone Star state as the team travels for its 3-game series against Texas State (May 16-18). To wrap up the regular season, Troy invites James Madison for the programs' first-ever meeting, starting May 16 and concluding May 18.
The 2024 season culminates on May 21, when the Sun Belt Conference Tournament opens at Riverwalk Stadium and goes until the champion is crowned on May 26. Troy hopes to build on its NCAA Regional appearance last season by winning its first SBC title since 2006.
