Troy Volleyball Set to Host Texas State

TROY, Ala. – Troy prepares to host Texas State in the confines of Trojan Arena for a two-match series starting on Friday at 6 p.m. and concluding on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both matches will be broadcasted on ESPN+ and live stats are available at TroyTrojans.com.
Last weekend, the split series against South Alabama in Mobile marked Troy's final road matchup until the conference tournament at the end of this month. Troy will wrap up the season with a back-to-back match series against Texas State and Georgia Southern in Trojan Arena.
Tori Hester continues to pull double-figures during Trojan victories, recorded at 13-4 when Hester records double digits and at least one ace. Hester is ranked 21st in the nation, averaging 4.87 points per set through all matches while accumulating 5.60 points per set through conference play.
Troy's offense continues to sit at the top of the league after six weeks of play, with 549 kills and a hitting percentage of .258.
The Trojans welcome back previous volleyball letterwinners of the program during Saturday's match. The program will recognize the 1983 Gulf South Championship team during this time.
The Bobcats hold a strong lead over the Trojans in the all-time series record, at 14-0 for Texas State. The last meeting was in San Marcos, where the Bobcats swept the Trojans in both matches.
Last year, against the Bobcats, Amiah Butler posted 23 kills and three blocks. Defensively, Julia Brooks tallied six blocks and Jaci Mesa led the back row with 28 digs.
Serving Up: Texas State
Last week, Texas State (16-7, 9-3 SBC) matched up against Arkansas State, where they swept the series at 3-1 and 3-0.
The Texas State defense leads the way, as Jade Defraeye, Bailey Hanner and Samantha Wunsch are all ranked in the top ten in the block category. The team averages 2.92 blocks per set to lead the conference.
The Bobcats are on a six-match win streak while handing South Alabama their only other loss in conference two weeks ago.
