Troy Hosts Sam Houston to Open Trojan Classic

TROY, Ala. — After picking up a big win over Reinhardt last week, the Troy men's basketball team returns to action on Monday at 6 p.m. CT, as it hosts Sam Houston at Trojan Arena.
Monday's game is the first of three games being played at Trojan Arena this week as part of the Trojan Classic. Sam Houston and Grambling State will face off on Wednesday afternoon before Troy goes against Grambling State on Friday.
Troy is coming off a 111-46 victory over Reinhardt last Tuesday.
The Trojans and Bearkats are meeting for the first time on Monday.

The Trojans look to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. After a 0-2 road trip to Ohio and Oregon State Troy responded at home last week with a 65-point win over Reinhardt. Marcus Rigsby Jr., had a career day, scoring 15 points.
Christyon Eugene and Tayton Conerway each had another double-figure performance, and the pair of guards have each scored in double-digits in every game this season.
Tuesday also served as a coming-out party for newcomer Theo Seng, who registered a career-high 14 points on 7-7 shooting. The junior transfer from Eastern Arizona College helped spark a 25-0 run for Troy early in the first half.
Troy has rebounded strongly so far this season, winning the rebounding battle in all four games so far. The Trojans pulled down a season-high 51 boards in Tuesday's win, the most since the Trojans grabbed 53 against Jacksonville State on Nov. 16, 2021.

The Bearkats are coming off a 70-67 loss to Ole Miss in Oxford on Friday night and have lost their last three games.
Davon Barnes leads the way on offense, scoring 15.3 points per game. Sam Houston is scoring 68.5 points per game on 37.7 percent shooting. The Bearkats are allowing 72.8 points per game to their opponents on 45.3 percent shooting.
