TROY, Ala. — After picking up a big win over Reinhardt last week, the Troy men's basketball team returns to action on Monday at 6 p.m. CT, as it hosts Sam Houston at Trojan Arena.

Monday's game is the first of three games being played at Trojan Arena this week as part of the Trojan Classic. Sam Houston and Grambling State will face off on Wednesday afternoon before Troy goes against Grambling State on Friday.

Troy is coming off a 111-46 victory over Reinhardt last Tuesday.

The Trojans and Bearkats are meeting for the first time on Monday.

Keep it Going
The Trojans look to win back-to-back games for the first time this season. After a 0-2 road trip to Ohio and Oregon State Troy responded at home last week with a 65-point win over Reinhardt. Marcus Rigsby Jr., had a career day, scoring 15 points.

Christyon Eugene and Tayton Conerway each had another double-figure performance, and the pair of guards have each scored in double-digits in every game this season.

Tuesday also served as a coming-out party for newcomer Theo Seng, who registered a career-high 14 points on 7-7 shooting. The junior transfer from Eastern Arizona College helped spark a 25-0 run for Troy early in the first half.

Troy has rebounded strongly so far this season, winning the rebounding battle in all four games so far. The Trojans pulled down a season-high 51 boards in Tuesday's win, the most since the Trojans grabbed 53 against Jacksonville State on Nov. 16, 2021.

The Bearkats are coming off a 70-67 loss to Ole Miss in Oxford on Friday night and have lost their last three games.

Davon Barnes leads the way on offense, scoring 15.3 points per game. Sam Houston is scoring 68.5 points per game on 37.7 percent shooting. The Bearkats are allowing 72.8 points per game to their opponents on 45.3 percent shooting.

• Troy is seventh in the country in total bench points scored this season at 169 — which comes out to 42.25 per game, which is ninth in the country.
• Troy picked up its most lopsided win in 20 years last Tuesday when they defeated Reinhardt 111-46 for a 65-point victory. The Trojans' last win with a margin bigger than that was a 140-66 (+74) win over Oakwood in 2003.
• The Trojans have grabbed 183 rebounds, which ranks ninth in the country. The Trojans are averaging 45.8 per game for a +12 margin. Troy is 19th in the country in offensive rebounds with 64. They had a season-high 51 rebounds against Reinhardt last Tuesday.
• Three players are scoring in double figures for Troy. Tayton Conerway leads the way with 13.3 points per game and is followed by Christyon Eugene with 13.0 and Thomas Dowd with 11.3.
• The Trojans offense is 37th in the country in total points scored this season at 353. The Trojans have scored 70 or more points in all four games and 90+ in two games, including a 111-point effort last Tuesday against Reinhardt.
