Troy Softball Announces 2024 Schedule

TROY, Ala. – Troy head coach Eric Newell announced the Trojans' 2024 softball schedule on Friday that features four NCAA Tournament teams and home games against Auburn, South Alabama, Southern Miss and James Madison.
"We are excited about the upcoming spring schedule," Newell said. "It's tournament-heavy with a few non-conference midweeks sprinkled in. We are fortunate to host the first two tournaments of the year in Troy, and we will follow that with three straight tournaments on the road.
"Our team and coaching staff know we will be tested early and often in those early season games. The tournaments have us playing five to six games each weekend, so that is going to require a lot of depth and mental toughness from our team. We will strive to compete well in those early weeks to be battle-tested before entering Sun Belt Conference play.
The Trojans kick off the season on Feb. 9 at home hosting the Trojan Classic, including North Alabama, Samford and UT-Martin.
In a Valentine's Day midweek matchup, the Trojans welcome Alabama State to the Troy Softball Complex before hosting the Troy Invitational that weekend, with Indiana, Florida A&M and Gardner Webb coming to town.
Indiana is one of the four NCAA Tournament teams on Troy's schedule in 2024 joining Auburn, who makes a trip to Troy on March 19 and Sun Belt foes Louisiana and Texas State.
Following the Troy Invitational, the Trojans embark on a 19-game road trip featuring tournaments at Mercer, Mississippi State and The Spring Games in Florida.
The Trojans break up their stretch of tournament play with a road trip to in-state foe Auburn for a midweek game at Jane B. Moore Field on March 6.
Troy opens Sun Belt Conference play at the end the road trip with a three-game series at Coastal Carolina (March 15-17) before heading home to start their second-longest homestand of the season, a seven-game run which includes matchups against Auburn (March 19), James Madison (March 22-24) and Southern Miss (March 28-30).
At the beginning of April, Troy heads back to Georgia for a midweek battle against Georgia Tech on April 3 before heading west to Bobcat Stadium for a three-game Sun Belt set at Texas State (April 5-7).
A Mercer midweek rematch brings the Trojans home on April 10 before Troy welcomes conference foe ULM for a series on April 12-14.
Troy returns to the Peach State for the third time for a three-game series against Georgia Southern on April 19-21 before closing out the home portion of its schedule against in-state rival South Alabama on April 26-28.
The Trojans wrap up the regular season on the road at Louisiana (May 2-4) before returning to Texas State for 2024 Sun Belt Conference Tournament (May 7-11).
