JONESBORO, Ark. – Behind a pair of top-20 finishes from Laura Fangmeyer and Alyssa Mercado, the Troy women's golf team finished fifth in the 16-team field at the Lady Red Wolves Fall Classic, which wrapped play Tuesday afternoon at the Sage Meadows Country Club.

Fangmeyer closed the week in a tie for 15^th place after shooting even in Tuesday's final round thanks to four birdies, including two over her final three holes. Mercado was a shot back in a tie for 19^th place following a 73 on Tuesday in a round that also featured four birdies.

Mercado finished fourth in the field with 11 birdies over her three rounds and paced the field with a combined 7-under on the par 5 holes. Fangmeyer was 2-under on the par 5 offerings and 1-under on the par 4s.

Troy's 891 is its best tally of the fall so far and saw the Trojans knock off a pair of teams – Austin Peay and Memphis – that had head-to-head victories over them earlier in the year. The Trojans shot 6-over in the final round, matching their round two score, their third-best round of the fall.

Katelynn Altese and Bruna Roqueta tied for 24^th place following rounds of 74 and 75, respectively, to close out play as the pair each carded one birdie on the day. Playing as an individual, Jillian Friyia tied for 53^rd place after shooting 2-over on Tuesday; she was tied for 17^th in the field and second among the Trojan golfers with nine birdies. Samantha Straight rounded out the field for the Trojans in a tie for 60^th place.

Troy closes out the fall schedule in two weeks with a trip to the Bahamas for the Bahamas Invitational.
