Troy Rolls Through Arkansas State to Remain Undefeated in SBC Play

TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball rolled through Arkansas State in four sets (22-25, 25-19, 25-13, 25-20) in the confines of Trojans Arena Saturday afternoon to remain undefeated in Sun Belt play and extend the best SBC start in program history.
Amiah Butler led Troy (10-8, 8-0 SBC) with 17 kills to push its winning streak to nine. Tori Hester followed close behind with 16 kills, while Julia Brooks tallied 11. The trio combined for 44 of the squads' 55 kills.
Brooks led the Trojans at the net, tallying five blocks. As a team, the Trojans recorded 10 blocks as opposed to the Red Wolves five.
The Red Wolves took the first set from the Trojans behind 15 kills and 16 digs. Troy rallied back to take the following three sets, outscoring the Red Wolves 75-52 to clinch the match.
The Trojans peaked in set three after Arkansas State tied the match 8-8 on a service error by Troy. The following 22 points saw Troy take 17 points to take a 2-1 advantage, heading into the third.
Defensively, Jaci Mesa led the Trojans as the only Trojan to record double-digit digs with 11. Meanwhile, Janelle Stuempfig tallied 47 assists with five digs and one block.
Kaitlin Whitlock and Yazmin Billings led Arkansas State (11-9, 1-7 SBC), recording 11 kills each. Defensively, Sarah Martinez tallied 11 digs and Erin Madigan collected 36 assists.

- Emma Blaine set a career-high four blocks and four kills in this afternoon's match.
- Every Trojan recorded at least one dig through the match. Troy tallied 51 digs in the sweep.
