TROY, Ala. – The non-conference schedule has ended as Troy volleyball prepares to open Sun Belt Conference play with a pair of matches against the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Thursday, Sep. 22 at 6 p.m. and Friday, Sep. 23 from Trojan Arena.
"Starting conference play at home is always exciting," head coach Josh Lauer said. "We have the best fans in the Sun Belt, and I know our team is looking forward to transitioning into the conference schedule. Focusing on one opponent each week and really fine-tuning our play week to week will be very beneficial for our team."
Lauer notched his 80th win as Troy's head coach after the Trojans beat Gardner-Webb in four sets.
History will surely be made this week as Amara Anderson goes to break the all-time assist record. With 4,962 assists in her career, Anderson only needs 10 assists to break Luann Atz's record of 4,971 assists.
The Trojans will look to win their fourth straight match against the visitors of the west as Troy has not fallen to Louisianan since 2017. Troy and Louisiana have met a total of 23 times before, with the Trojans holding a 13-10 record dating back to 1997, including 7-3 at home.
