Sklenska’s Historic Season Ends on Day Two of NCAA East Preliminary

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Troy junior Edita Sklenska's season comes to an end with a 29^th place finish in the 800m on Thursday afternoon at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary round at Haugh Track & Field Complex.

Sklenska came into the day seeded 22^nd in the region, which placed her in heat three. The junior finished sixth in her heat at 2:06.45 for her second-best time of the season. This time put her 29^th overall to end her historic season.

Thursday's race caps off a memorable season that saw Sklenska break two Trojan event records, including the 1500m twice at the Penn Relays (4:21.94) and Tiger Track Classic (4:25.02). The All-Sun Belt Outdoor First team runner also snapped the program's sprint medley record alongside Maya Kelly, Naveyh Frost and Vennessa Frank. Overall, the Czech Republic native claimed gold three times in the 800m.

Javon Osbourne is the final Trojan in play tomorrow in the discus throw. The event is slated to start at noon.
