Trojans Return Home for Weekend Series with Kennesaw State

TROY, Ala. – Troy Baseball returns to the friendly confines of Riddle-Pace Field after completing a five-game road trip for a three-game series against the Kennesaw St. Owls March 4-6.
The first pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m. marking the first night game at Riddle-Pace Field of the young 2022 season, followed by a 3:00 start time on Saturday before wrapping up on Sunday at 1 p.m.
On April 22, 2015, these two programs last met when Troy traveled to Kennesaw and won 6-2. Troy holds a 23-2 record over the Owls going 17-1 in that time frame at home.

Troy will turn to its regular weekend rotation with sophomore Garrett Gainous on the mound Friday night, looking to get his first win of the season. Brady Fuller and Bay Witcher will follow Gainous on Saturday and Sunday. Witcher leads the Trojans in innings pitched with 11.2 innings in two appearances striking out 13 and only walking three batters.
Jake Myers, John Bezdicek, and Conor Housley will toe the mound for Kennesaw St. this weekend as the Owls enter the series 7-1 on the year, having beat Morehead State, Fairfield, and fellow Sun Belt member, Georgia State.
The Trojans are looking to get out of an early-season slump as they have dropped four of the last five games, which have all been played on the road after going 4-0 to start the year.
