Troy Men's Basketball College Basketball Invitational Bound

TROY, Ala. – Troy is returning to the postseason for the first time in five years after the Trojans accepted an invitational to the 14th annual College Basketball Invitational. Held in the confines of the Daytona Beach Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, the 16-team single-elimination CBI tournament runs from March 19-23.
"We are extremely excited to be a part of the 'Roman College Basketball Invitational," head coach Scott Cross said. "Our guys did an amazing job this year winning 20 games and have earned the opportunity to play in a postseason basketball tournament.
"I will be forever thankful to the players & coaches on our basketball team for working so hard to take our program to new heights. Our two seniors, Nick Stampley and Khalyl Waters, have been a part of this program since I was first hired almost three years ago, and they have helped transform our program and have helped us build a winning culture."
The Trojans (20-11, 10-6 SBC) add postseason play to their list of accomplishments achieved this season. Troy had its best season (based on win percentage) since 2003-04, completing its first 20-win season in Cross' tenure and finished fourth in the Sun Belt.
"I am fired up that they will have the opportunity to put on the Troy Trojan Cardinal and White and compete for a championship one more time," Cross said. "The Ocean Center Arena, which is within walking distance from Daytona Beach, is an absolutely amazing venue for a basketball tournament. I look forward to seeing our awesome Trojan fans next week in Daytona. Take the Stairs!"
The CBI marks the first time Troy has seen postseason play since the 2016-17 season when the team danced in the NCAA Tournament against Duke. The remainder of the field will be announced on March 13 with first round games taking place March 19-20.
