Women's Hoops Travels to Belmont for Key Non-Conference Clash

TROY, Ala. – As the calendar gets closer to turning to the new year, Troy travels north to Nashville for a clash against Belmont in the Trojans' final non-conference tilt of the year on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The Trojans head Curb Event Center in search of their third straight win before hitting Sun Belt Conference play at the end of the month.

Troy (5-5) evened its record with a pair of home victories over the past week-plus of action with wins over Mercer (79-73) and LaGrange (114-49). The Trojans rank 122^nd in the latest NCAA NET rankings, while Belmont (3-7) checks in at No. 95 as the Bruins have six losses to either ranked or Power Five teams.

The Trojans enter the match-up leading the country in rebounds per game (53.3) and offensive rebounds per game (24.0) and are among the top 25 nationally in free throw attempts (24.2), scoring (81.4) and steals (11.7).

The 114-point outburst against LaGrange last week was Troy's second 100-point of the season and Troy's most points since torching LaGrange for 131 points in 2020. Janeen Camp and Jamila Nansikombi-Gunter paced six Trojans in double figures scoring 15 points each.

For the year, Nia Daniel leads the Trojans averaging 13.5 points per game as she's knocking down 42 percent of her shots and averaging more than one 3-pointer per contest. All told, four Trojans are averaging in double figures on the year, including Ja'Mia Hollings, who averages 11.6 points to go along with a team-best 7.2 records per game.

Belmont returns home for the first time since a 4-point loss to Georgia Tech on Dec. 4. The Bruins average a tick under 65 points a game this season, led by Destinee Wells' 15.0 points per game.
