A layup from Sharonica Hartsfield extended the Trojan lead to seven midway through the period, and a late jumper from Daniel gave Troy a six-point lead after 10 minutes of play.

A Porchia layup three minutes into the quarter gave the Trojans a seven-point lead. A 3-pointer from Mercer cut the advantage for Troy to three, but a buzzer-beater from Daniel gave the Trojans a nine-point lead at the half.
The third quarter was when Troy was able to gain some separation from its opponent.
