Troy Set for Pivotal Divisional Series With Texas State

TROY, Ala. – It's a battle at the top of the Sun Belt West standings as Troy volleyball takes their program-high nine-game win streak and travels to San Marcos, Texas, to take on Texas State with both teams 10-2 and in first place in the Sun Belt West Division. The weekend gets started Friday, Nov. 4, at 6 p.m., followed by a match on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m., with both matches streaming on ESPN+.
Troy will be looking for their first program win over the Bobcats and become the first Trojan team to reach 11 conference wins in a season while also winning a program high 10 straight games.
"This is an exciting weekend that will determine the final seeding for the conference tournament," head coach Josh Lauer said. "Texas State has been the Sun Belt standard bearer in volleyball for a long time. They have a very experienced team, and we are looking forward to a very competitive weekend. This will undoubtedly be one of the marquee matches in the Sun Belt this weekend."
Lauer notched his 90th win at the helm of the Trojans after beating South Alabama in four sets. Lauer, this season, became the first coach in Trojan volleyball history to lead the Trojans to four consecutive winning seasons in conference play.
The Matchup: Troy (16-8, 10-2) vs. Texas State (18-6, 10-2)

The Trojans will turn to Tori Hester and Amara Anderson, who were each named Sun Belt Players of the week, with Hester taking home her first offensive player of the week honor and Anderson earning her 10th setter of the week award.
Hester is having a career year leading the Trojan offense. Her 408 kills on the season are more than the last two seasons combined, and she ranks 11th in the nation in that category. Hester has seen four straight double-doubles and has 13 on the season. She is 10th in the country in points (414.5) and ranks in the top 50 players nationwide in kills per set (20), points per set (19), and total attacks (44).
Anderson will be looking for her fourth 1000-assist season as she sits 42 assists away. Anderson now has appeared in 138 matches which is fifth among Sun Belt players in career matches played. Earlier this season, Anderson became Troy's all-time career assists leader and is the only Trojan to surpass 5000 career assists.
Julia Brooks, who reached 1000 career kills earlier this season and became the Trojan's all-time career leader in solo blocks, will look to continue making history this weekend. Brooks needs one block to become the program's all-time leader in career total blocks, as she currently sits at 315. Last weekend Brooks moved into 10th place in Troy's all-time career kill list with 1079 kills thus far during her time at Troy.
