Volleyball Announces 2021 Schedule

TROY, Ala. – The Troy volleyball program announced its complete schedule for the 2021 season on Wednesday. The schedule will feature 10 regular season matches inside Trojan Arena, highlighted by its season-opener against Ole Miss, as well as a 16-game Sun Belt Conference slate.

Following an exhibition match vs Kennesaw State (Aug 21), Troy will host Ole Miss at 6 p.m. on Aug. 27 for its season opener. This marks just the second time in program history, and first time since 2015, that Troy will host a Power-Five opponent inside Trojan Arena. The Trojans' match against the Rebels is part of the three-day round robin inside Trojan Arena that will include a match against the Blazers of UAB on Aug. 29.

Following its season-opening home matches, Troy will spend the next two weekends on the road. Their first road matches will take place in Tuscaloosa Sept. 9-12 when they take on Alabama, Southern Miss and Buffalo in the Crimson Tide Invitational.

After spending the weekend in Tuscaloosa, Troy will compete in the Chattanooga Classic, Sept. 10-11. The Trojans' first match will be against the Hokies of Virginia Tech on the 10th followed by two matches on the 11th against Tennessee Tech and Chattanooga.

After six straight matches away from home, its longest road stretch of the season, Troy will host Alabama State on Sept. 14 before traveling to Birmingham to take on LSU (Sept. 18) and Samford (Sept. 19) in the Samford Invitational, concluding the non-conference portion of its schedule.

The Trojans, who have won eight straight home Sun Belt matches and 17 of their last 18 home conference matches, will begin Sun Belt play inside Trojan Arena when they host Texas State and UTA Sept. 24-25. This season will be the first regular season meeting against teams from the West Division since 2019 after COVID-19 forced the 2020 season to feature division only matches.

Troy will be on the road for back-to-back weekends when they travel to Little Rock and Arkansas State (Oct. 1-2) and then Coastal Carolina and App State (Oct. 8th & 10th) before returning home to take on Georgia Southern and Georgia State (Oct. 15-16).

The first of two meetings this season between Troy and South Alabama will take place at 6 p.m. on Oct. 19 inside Trojan Arena. Troy won the season series against the Jaguars last season with a 3-1 record, including a 2-0 mark at home.

Following its Tuesday rivalry match, the Trojans will hit the road for Louisiana when they travel to ULM (Oct. 22) and Louisiana (Oct. 23). Troy will round out the month of October with its two final home matches of the 2021 season. Troy will host Coastal Carolina on Oct. 29 before honoring their senior class on Saturday, Oct. 30 against App State.

The Trojans will conclude their 2021 regular season with a trip to South Alabama on Nov. 6 followed by a pair of matches at Georgia Southern (Nov. 12) and Georgia State (Nov. 13).

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament will once again be in Foley, Ala. at the Foley Events Center with the event running from Nov. 18 through the 21st.
