Troy Treks to Conway for Three-Game Set Against Coastal Carolina

TROY, Ala. – Troy closes out its road trip with a three-game set at divisional opponent Coastal Carolina beginning Friday at noon (CT) at Spring Brooks Stadium. All three games of the series will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The Trojans enter a pivotal divisional weekend having won five of their last seven contests with the only two losses coming on the road against No. 20 Florida State. Pitching has been the backbone of Troy's success as of late.
The Trojan arms have posted a 1.95 ERA over the last seven games while the bullpen has allowed just two runs to score over the stretch. Marquez Oates has emerged as a lockdown option out of the bullpen with a 3-1 record and four saves along with a 2.10 ERA and 34 strikeouts compared to nine walks in 25.2 innings this season.
The pitching staff has recorded five shutouts this season, tied for the 11th-most in the nation. Four of the five blank slates have come in the last 11 games. Sunday starter Bay Witcher is coming off a performance in which he struck out a career-high nine batters in five innings against the Seminoles.
True freshman Garrett Gainous will make his fourth Friday night start while Orlando Ortiz will get the nod on Saturday.
Logan Cerny paces the Trojans offensively with a .331 average while Donovan Whibbs is hitting .435 with two doubles and four RBIs over his last six games.
