TROY, Ala. – Troy is set to host its second Sun Belt Conference series as it welcomes Texas State in a cross-divisional matchup. First pitch between the Trojans and Bobcats is set for Friday at 6 p.m.

Both Troy and Texas State look to get back on track after suffering series defeats last weekend against their division rivals. The Trojans fell in heartbreaking, walk-off fashion to Samford on Tuesday while Texas State was able to rebound with midweek victory over UTRGV.
Caleb Bartolero has been trending upward recently, hitting a team-best .333 over the last five games with a home run, a double and three RBIs. The preseason All-American started Tuesday's game against Samford at first base.
Drew Frederic continues to do his job as the leadoff man, having reached base in all 27 games this season. The senior is riding a career-best 36-game on-base streak dating back to last year.
Orlando Ortiz is set to make his return to the weekend rotation in the series-opener Friday night. The junior righty appeared in a relief role for the first time in his Troy career last Thursday against South Alabama and allowed just one hit in four innings, struck out seven and retired nine consecutive batters to close the game.
