The Trojans look to snap a three-game skid and will look to leadoff batter Drew Frederic to continue his high level of production to do so. The senior hit .400 on the weekend and has reached base in all 26 games this season as part of a career-long 35-game on-base streak dating back to last season.
Senior lefty Max Newton is poised to make the 25th start of his career on the mound. It will be Newton's first start since Feb. 23, 2020 against Louisiana Tech.
Troy lost a tight one-run game to Samford in the schools' first matchup March 9 at Riddle-Pace Field. The Trojans' comeback effort fell short as Troy placed the winning run on first base with one out in the bottom of the ninth, but couldn't seal the deal as they dropped a heartbreaker to the Bulldogs, 6-5. Logan Cerny went 3-for-4 while Rigsby Mosley finished the contest 3-for-5.
