Trojans Sweep 200m Dash on Day One of Maroon & White Invite

Starkville, Miss. – Troy wrapped up day one at the Maroon & White Invitational with several top-five finishes, highlighted a sweep of the women's and men's 200m dash. Precious Ogba (24.35) took the top spot in the women's event while Matthew Likely (20.83) took gold on the men's side.

The men's field athletes posted a solid first day at the meet with four top-five finishes across four events. Austin Snyder highlighted the field events with a third-place finish in the discus with a mark of 49.30m. Michael Alvernaz and Titus Sizemore took fourth in the hammer throw and high jump, respectively, while Jakyryn Davis finished fourth in the long jump.

Blake Vaughn finished the men's 5000m in 15:41.06 to take third in the event while Cadi Rowe took fourth in the women's 5000m with a time of 17:48.94, a new career best.
