Troy Travels to UAB for In-State Rivalry Tilt

TROY, Ala. - After the original midweek tilt was postponed due to weather (March 31), Troy will square off against in-state foe UAB in a 6 p.m. Wednesday night matchup at Mary Bowers Field.
On the season, senior Katie Webb leads the Trojans (26-9) offensively batting at a .371 clip with 10 doubles, three home runs and 24 RBIs. In the previous matchup against UAB, the first baseman went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Leanna Johnson (15-4) leads Troy's pitching staff posting a 1.30 ERA with 192 strikeouts over 118.2 innings of actions. Freshman Libby Baker (4-2) earned her first win of the season against the Blazers after scattering three hits over five innings of work back in February.
SCOUTING THE BLAZERS:
UAB (18-16) enters the midweek tilt after taking the series over UTEP, 2-1, last weekend. Sierra Frazier leads the way offensively batting .386 with five doubles, four home runs and 12 RBIs. Last time against the Trojans, Frazier went 0-for-2 at the plate.
Jaycee Cook (4-2) leads the UAB pitching staff with a 2.86 ERA, 32 strikeouts over 50.1 innings of work. Emily Kachel suffered the loss against Troy after giving up four runs, five hits and a walk.
