Trojans Finish Strong in First Meet of the Season

Birmingham, Ala. – Troy Track and Field wrapped up action at the BSC Icebreaker held by Birmingham Southern College Friday afternoon.
It was the first meet of the season for the Trojans, and they saw plenty of top-five finishes.
Top Five Finishers
Sophomore Vennessa Frank finished second in the Women 400 Meter Dash with a time of 56.73. Frank, along with Kasia Cooper, Le'NAi Hunter, and Donisha Jeanty, finished second in the women's 4x400 Meter Relay finishing with a time of 3:53.60.
Sophomore Maja Kuessner took home third place in the Women High Jump with a jump of 1.70 meters. In the Women's triple jump, three Trojans finished in the top five, with Alejandra Gutierrez Fuente in second place with a jump of 11.71m, Jade Johnson in third at 11.69, and Camryn Pettus recorded a jump of 11.36m which was a good enough for fifth place.
Biniosa Ezkuse took home second place in the women's Shot-put, recording a throw of 13.69m, followed by Abby Grsinke, who finished in fifth place with a throw of 12.80m. Ezukuse also got second in the Women's Weight Throw at 16.36m. Leah Kennedy would follow in fourth with a throw of 15.38m.
On the Men's side, Nash Rutledge finished first in Men Shot Put with a throw of 14.97, and Morgan Reese would follow in third place, finishing 14.54. Jack Anderson took home second place in the Men's High Jump with a jump of 1.90m.
In the Men's weight throw Tristian Boatman and Reese would round up the top five after Boatman came in fourth with a throw of 14.41m and Resse right behind him with a throw of 14.21m.

The Trojans won't have another meet until Saturday, January 15, when they head back to Birmingham for the UAB Vulcan Invite.
