KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Troy women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a 15th place finish at the Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Turtle Point Golf Club.
Teams finished their second rounds Tuesday morning before playing the final 18 holes; Monday's play was halted due to darkness, with most teams having not completed their second trip through the course.
ShaeLee Scarberry led the Trojans' efforts as she tied for 32nd place overall at 7-over par for the week. She closed out her tournament with a 5-over 77 after shooting 1-under to open the event.
North Florida was the lone club to shoot under par as the Ospreys won the team title at 8-under, an 11-shot advantage over South Florida. No. 42 Sam Houston State, College of Charleston and Xavier rounded out the top five.
Elisabeth Preus tied for 53rd overall after matching Scarberry's 77 in Tuesday's round to shoot 13-over for the tournament, while Bruna Roqueta moved into a tie for 69th after also shooting 5-over on the day. Anna Claire Little tied for 75th place at 20-over for the week and Elizabeth Caldarelli tied for 83rd place at 26-over par.
The Trojans now take a break from competition for the winter before returning on Feb. 7-8 to open a six-tournament spring schedule ahead of the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
