TROY, Ala. – Trojan Madness, Troy annual preseason basketball celebration, returns to Trojan Arena on Thursday, Nov. 4, to officially kick off the 2021-22 Troy men's and women's basketball seasons. The event begins at 5 p.m. with DJ Red playing above the student section.
In addition to the Trojan Madness festivities, the event will serve as a pep rally for the "Battle for the Belt" football game between Troy and South Alabama that will take place that Saturday at The Vet. Head coach Chip Lindsey and Troy's captains will be on hand to address fans.
Women's head coach Chanda Rigby and men's head coach Scott Cross will also speak to the fans to open the evening's events.
Fans will be able to take pictures with T-Roy, Troy's Sun Belt Conference championship trophy and "The Belt" before the on-court festivities get underway. The evening features a slam dunk contest, a 3-point contest and the SGA Spirit Stick.
There will be plenty of prizes to be given away throughout the evening with free t-shirts, authentic Troy basketball jerseys and two chances to walk away with $500.
The teams open the season with a doubleheader in Trojan Arena on Thursday, Nov. 9, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The defending Sun Belt champion women's basketball team plays host to Talladega College while the Trojan men host Carver College.
