Trojans Primed for KMS Invite

TROY, Ala. – The Troy indoor track and field squad returns to action Sunday at the KMS Invite hosted at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The Trojans' look to take another step forward in their second indoor meet of the year after a successful showing at the Blazer Invite a week ago.

Three Trojans who set school records last weekend will compete in the KMS Invite. Maja Kuessner (high jump) Edita Sklenska (600m), Kasia Cooper (500m) and Austin Snyder (shot put) all set program-best marks in the first meet of the year.
On the women's side, Jade Johnson and Amber Gordon posted marks of 11.84m and 11.47m, respectively, in the triple jump. Sklenska's 1:32.05 finish in the 600m gave her silver in the event last weekend. Troy had a strong showing with two runners inside the top three in the mile with Cadi Rowe (5:05.26) and Lauren Locke (5:05.95) taking second and third, respectively.
After Troy's 4x800 relay finished in first last week, the Trojans will compete in the 4x400 this week.
On the men's side, Snyder's school record toss of 16.86 in the shot put highlighted the field events.
Sage Delfino looks to improve after starting the year with podium finishes in the 1000m (2:46.28, 2nd) and the mile (4:38.07,3rd). Reuben Dotson (1:21.93) and Chance Armstrong (1:22.19) each tallied top-three finishes in the 600m last weekend.
