Cross Country Slated for John ‘Doc’ Anderson Invite

TROY, Ala. – The Troy cross country teams are looking to continue rolling on an explosive start to the season in the John 'Doc' Anderson Invite Saturday on Troy University's campus. The women's 5k trek will begin at 9 a.m. with the men's 8k to follow.
The women's squad opened up the 2020 season with a victory in the Azalea City Classic. Macki Walsh led the women in the 5k race with a second-place finish in 18:18.0, setting a 5k personal record.
Cadi Rowe and Gracie Booher kicked off the season with solid outings both landing within the top five.
On the men's side, Blake Vaughn led the men to a fourth-place finish placing 11th in 16:32.3.
Mason Bennett and Sage Delfino rounded out Troy's top-three finishes placing 13th and 14th, respectively.
The home meet marks the first race hosted by the Trojans since 2016 where the men took first, and the women placed second.
The meet will be open to spectators with temperature checks. Admission is free.
