TROY, Ala. – Troy Athletics and the Trojan Warrior Club announced Monday a comprehensive fundraising initiative called The Drive to 1887. This fundraising campaign is centered around strengthening relationships, generating pride and providing increased financial resources to Troy Athletics.
"The Drive to 1887 provides an excellent opportunity for more members of Trojan Nation to step forward and be a part of the incredible momentum that continues to push Troy Athletics forward as one of the premier programs in the Group of Five," Director of Athletics Brent Jones said. "Our fans have stepped up and helped us produce attendance and season ticket records in every program. Now, the time has come for us to establish a new record, Together as One TROY, in the Drive to 1887 to increase our membership and philanthropic giving within the Trojan Warrior Club. Our trajectory is real, and we can accomplish this goal as we look to grow the power of Trojan Nation even further."
Paying homage to the year Troy University was founded, The Drive to 1887 has stated goals to increase Trojan Warrior Club annual memberships from 1,193 member in 2019 to 1,887 overall members. All of these revenues go directly to help support the 16 sports that are sponsored and over 350 student athletes at Troy University Athletics.
Troy Athletics operates under the W4 Approach – winning in the classroom, winning on the field, winning in the community and winning in the stands. The Drive to 1887 and the Trojan Warrior Club is a leading way for fans to play their part in helping Troy Athletics be successful in all four phases of the W4 Approach.
Total makeup of financial support consists of all philanthropic gifts and Trojan Seat Licenses from respective sports. The increased membership and fundraising goals would put Troy Athletics and the Trojan Warrior Club in the upper echelon of the Sun Belt Conference for annual support.
There are a variety of ways to participate in the Drive to 1887 and become an official member of the Trojan Warrior Club:
Benefits of being a Trojan Warrior Club member include priority football seating and parking opportunities, access to hospitality areas, invitations to special events, exclusive access inside Troy Athletics and tax deductibility for appropriate gifts.
