Six Trojans Voted onto All-Time Sun Belt Roster

TROY, Ala. – Sun Belt baseball fans voted six Trojans to the league's all-time roster. Tyler Ray, Clint Robinson, Adam Bryant, Matt Sanders, Brandon Lockridge and Chase Smartt were Troy's selections to the team.
While many of the players listed were nominated by member institutions, several fans wrote in their own players who they thought should be on the list. Troy's six selections tied with Louisiana for the second-most in the conference.
Tyler Ray (2009-12)

Ray made an impact at Troy immediately and was named the 2009 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year. The 2011 season saw the Hoover, Ala., native real in a plethora of honors including, Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year, Louisville Slugger All-America Second Team, ABCA / Rawlings All-America Third Team and All-Sun Belt Conference First Team. In 2012, he was named to the Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America Second Team and NCBWA Preseason All-America First Team.
Ray is Troy's career record holder in games started (61) and innings pitched (400.1). The righty also ranks second in wins (32) and third in strikeouts (259). He is Troy's single-season record holder in winning percentage for his 12-0 record in 2011.
Clint Robinson (2004-07)

To this day, Robinson's name is still in the top five of several categories in the Troy baseball record book including, games played (213), at-bats (777), runs (169), hits (257), doubles (47), home runs (37), RBIs (178) and total bases (423).
A two-time All-Sun Belt selection, Robinson was named a second-team All-American in 2007 and was a member of the 2006 Sun Belt all-tournament team.
Adam Bryant (2008-11)

Bryant's name is plastered all over the Troy baseball record book after his storied career. At the end of his career, he held school records in games played (216), at-bats (829), runs scored (184), hits (276), triples (11) and total bases (476). He also ranked second in doubles (55) and RBIs (187) and was third in home runs (41).
The Pensacola, Fla., native's career honors include being named 2010 Ping!Baseball All-America First Team, 2011 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, 2011 Brooks Wallace Award (top NCAA shortstop) finalist, and a two-time Sun Belt First Team member.
Matt Sanders (2015-18)

After scoring 90 runs - an average of 1.43 runs per game - in 2018, Matt Sanders was recognized as the NCAA Statistical Champion in runs per game. His 90 runs were the most by a Sun Belt player since 1988 and smashed the school record by a whopping 15 runs. The total is still the most by any Division I player nationally since 2008.
A native of Madison, Ala., Sanders was a four-year starter at shortstop for the Trojans. In addition to breaking several records, he ranks in the top five in career games played (212), hits (269), doubles (48), triples (10), total bases (376) and sacrifice flies (11). He was drafted in the 10th round of MLB First Year Player Draft by the Seattle Mariners.
Brandon Lockridge (2016-18)

Brandon Lockridge became the second Troy player in school history to win the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award in 2018. The Pensacola, Fla., native made more program history when he became just the fifth Troy player to ever be drafted in the top five rounds of the MLB First-Year Player Draft as the New York Yankees selected him in the fifth round at pick 157.
The speedy Lockridge left Troy with the single-season (7) and career (14) triples records, as well as tying for the school record with 63 games played in 2018. He started 166 consecutive games in a Trojan uniform, which is the longest streak by any player since 2000.
Chase Smartt (2016-19)

Smartt became the 55th All-American in school history after he posted a .343/.406/.523 slash line with 21 doubles, six home runs and 41 RBIs during the 2019 season. He finished his career as Troy's all-time leader in games played (222) and sacrifice flies (18) in addition to ranking fifth in doubles (47) and hits (214).
The Troy native was a first team selection to the 2019 All-Sun Belt team.
