Thomas Named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week

TROY, Ala. – Troy right-hander Levi Thomas has been named the Sun Belt pitcher of the week, the league office announced Tuesday. This marks the second time of Thomas' career he has received the weekly honor.
The weekly honors continue to roll in for the junior after he was also named a Collegiate Baseball National player of the week Monday following a career-high 14-strikeout performance in 5 innings of work against Northern Kentucky. He opened the night with seven consecutive strikeouts, the most by a Trojan since Shane McCain fanned six straight against Louisiana in 2011.
His 14 strikeouts rank third nationally and were the most by a Trojan pitcher since 2017. The Cullman, Ala., native improved his career record to 6-1 at home and 11-2 overall.
Troy returns to action at Riddle-Pace Field Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Jackson State before a three-game home series against Louisiana Tech beginning Friday.
