Five Trojans Receive 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award

TROY, Ala. – Five former Troy student-athletes were named recipients of the 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) Academic Excellence Award, the board of directors announced. Kate Lorenz, Maddie Brune, Grace Mirly, Madeline Porter and SaraGrace Wilson were all recognized for their outstanding academic achievement during their collegiate careers.
The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award is awarded to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of a 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision institution.
"One of our fundamental core values is winning in the classroom, and we couldn't be prouder of these five student athletes who were not only outstanding representatives of Troy University on the field during their careers, but were also highly successful in the classroom," Troy Athletics Director Brent Jones said.

Award Requirements
1) Awarded a Bachelor's degree between September 1, 2019- August 31, 2020; and
2) Earned a cumulative GPA of a 3.80 or above upon graduation; and
3) Participated in at least two years of NCAA intercollegiate athletics.
