Troy Hits First Break of Fall Camp with Solid Momentum
8/5/2019 5:07:00 PM | Football
TROY, Alabama – Troy wrapped its fourth straight day of practice to open fall camp with a physical two-hour session Monday morning on the practice fields behind Trojan Arena. The Trojans were once again in helmets and shoulder pads.
Quotable – Head Coach Chip Lindsey
"I was really pleased with today. I thought both sides got after it really good and we finished well when we were tired. We got better as a football team today and now we get into this off day tomorrow where we can get a lot of film and study time.
"Getting Kaleb (Barker) in with the team reps that he hadn't gotten with me is a big deal, I think he has gotten himself more comfortable and is getting himself going. Also, I like the way our linebackers are playing aggressive downhill; that's something that has popped out to me the last two days. Carlton (Martial), A.J. Smiley, K.J. (Robertson) and (Justin) Whisenhunt set the tone for the defense.
"Today I was with inside drill, and I was really pleased with them being physical over there but staying off the ground and taking care of each other – getting good work in but setting the tone that we are going to be a physical team."
