Garriques, Glick Named to Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

2018-19 Academic All-District Teams

Troy, Ala. – Troy track & field seniors Brennan Garriques and Daniel Glick have earned a spot on the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) organization.

Members of the All-District teams were selected by CoSIDA and the selections all recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom.

Garriques and Glick were two of 10 student-athletes selected in District 4 which includes Division I schools from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Puerto Rico. The two Trojans were joined by three other student-athletes who compete for schools in Alabama.

Garriques turned in a 3.97 cumulative GPA studying social science. In the cross country season, the Canton, Ga., native posted two top-15 finishes including 12th place at the Azalea City Classic 8k (28:33.4) and 14th at the Sun Belt Conference Championship 8k (25:46.33).

Garriques' Sun Belt finished landed him a spot on the Sun Belt Conference Third Team.

Glick is no stranger to academic awards as the senior was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-American Third Team last season after holding a 4.0 GPA. This season, the Rome, Ga., native also boasts a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a communication arts & speech major.

During the track season, Glick ran the 1500m race at the Doc Anderson Invitational in 4:04.48 good for third place. At the Sun Belt Outdoor Conference Championships, Glick ran a season-best time of 9:27.62 in the 3000m steeplechase.
