TROY, Alabama – Three of Troy's incoming women's golf signees ended their prep campaigns this spring with championships, top state honors and strong state finishes.
Elisabeth Preus won the Alabama 7A individual title with a 6-over 150 at the RTJ at Capitol Hill earlier this month after she finished fourth last year as a junior. Preus' individual title helped propel Auburn High School to its second straight state title.
Brooklyn Bostick was one of just 12 girls golfers in the state and one of just three from Oklahoma's 5A classification named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Team. Bostick finished fifth at the Oklahoma State Tournament in early May and helped lead Duncan High School to a runner-up finish on the team side.
In Georgia, Ainsley Cowart tied for seventh place at the Georgia 4A State Tournament thanks to a 1-under 71 in the final round as she carded six birdies. She helped lead Carroll Central High School to the Georgia 4-4A region title where she finished second, just two shots behind her sister, Loralie.
Troy is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Sun Belt Championship and returns three players who competed in five or more tournaments last year including Sun Belt Freshman of the Year Nicole Lorup.
