Troy Men’s Tennis Cruises Past Jacksonville State

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Troy Men's Tennis was able to clinch the win in a midweek match against Jacksonville State, 4-3. The Trojans improve its record to 16-4 before heading to Sun Belt matches against Louisiana and UT Arlington.
Having the new doubles partnership Jiaqi Duan and Manuel Bernard were able to defeat Agost and Blanchar, 7-6. Oskar Michalek and Pelayo Antuna defeated Vallejo and Vishnevskiy, 6-2. Christopher Tasker and Jorge Poyatos were short at No.1 spot, 6-4. Therefore, the Trojans clinched the first doubles point in their last three games.
In the singles play Pelayo Antuna went back to No.1 seed, where he defeated Kaplja, 6-0, 6-4. Manuel Bernard was moved to No.4 spot and defeated Vishnevskiy in a fast manner, 6-1, 6-1. The Trojans went with the 3-0 lead from the start, and the last needed win came from Oskar Michalek who was able to win his match in two sets by defeating Vallejo, 6-3, 7-6. Christopher Tasker has suffered the first loss at No.5 spot after winning six straight games, 6-4, 7-6(5).
The Troy Men's Tennis will travel to Texas and Louisiana on Apr.5 and Apr.7 to compete in the Sun Belt matchups. These games will mark the final games before traveling to South Alabama for a rivalry game on Apr.13.
