Troy Struggles Away in Loss To UT Arlington

TROY, Ala. – Following a 4-3 win against Jacksonville State on Tuesday, Troy(16-5, 1-4) was unable to continue its winning streak as the Trojans dropped a 4-0 Sun Belt match to UT Arlington(13-7,3-2) on Friday.
The Trojans were close in the doubles matches, where a two-game difference allowed the Mavs to clinch 6-4 wins at the No.2 and No.3 spots. Christopher Tasker and Jorge Poyatos' match remained unfinished at the No.1 spot.
After the doubles play, the Trojans had to win four singles points out of six to win the match, but the Mavs showed a solid performance at all spots while winning first three matches in two sets. Pelayo Antuna, Oskar Michalek, and Jiaqi Duan were in the middle of the third and second sets when Mavericks clinched the match.
The Trojans will travel to play Louisiana on Sunday before heading for a rivalry game at South Alabama.
