Game Suspended in Bottom of Seventh, Series Altered

STATESBORO, Georgia – Game one of Troy's Sun Belt series at Georgia Southern was suspended in the bottom of the seventh inning due to lightning in the area with Troy leading, 6-1. The game will resume Saturday at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a doubleheader to complete the series.

Troy struck first in the top of the first with two runs off of hits by Madeline Porter and Bailey Taylor.

The Trojans added another pair of runs in the top of the second with hits by Katie Lively, Kelly Horne and Porter.

Georgia Southern answered with a run in the bottom of the second, but Troy added runs in the top of the third and fourth inning to give them a five-run advantage heading into the bottom of the seventh.

Upon resumption, the game will begin with the score 6-1 in the bottom of the seventh and a runner on first with one out. Following the conclusion of game one, a doubleheader will start to finish the series.
