Finch Sets Troy Record at Florida Relays

Gainesville, Fla. – Troy track and field turned in an impressive second day of action as junior Gemma Finch set a Troy all-time record at the Florida Relays held at the Percy Beard Track on Friday evening.Â

Record Book Breakers
In the 800m dash, Finch notched the fastest time in Troy's history as she finished the race in 2:08.99. Following right behind Finch was senior Tiarra Bailey who now sits second all-time in the 800m race in Troy history with a time of 2:09.46.Â

Sophomore Naquita Williams also landed in the all-time record book as she sits second in history in the hammer throw with a distance of 58.25 meters. Williams' 58.25-meter mark is 4.17 meters further than her previous personal best and placed her third out of 32 throwers in the event.

Season Best Performances
In the 1500m race, freshman Tanner Guest and senior Krystin Guirey notched season-best times of 4:40.33 and 4:57.00, respectively. Senior Daniel Glick posted a season best finish in the 3000m steeplechase in 9:28.67.Â

Sophomore Jordan Mereus set his personal record in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 53.83 seconds.Â

Senior Niata Alexander set her season best time of 55.45 seconds, good for 21st. Sophomore Jordan McCleksky and junior Harrison Dudley both set their season best times in 49.01 and 49.41, respectively.Â

Freshman Latrell Murray bested his previous personal record, finishing with a time of 55.81 seconds.
