Troy, Ala. – Troy men's basketball looks to regain its rhythm on Saturday when Arkansas State steps foot into Trojan Arena. Tip is set for 2 p.m. with the game broadcast live on ESPN+.Â

The Trojans (10-12, 3-7 Sun Belt) could not slow down Little Rock in the second half and dropped an 84-70 decision on Thursday night.Â
Â
Sophomore Javan Johnson led the Trojans with 16 points including four made three-pointers. Johnson added six rebounds, a career-high three steals, an assist and a block to his stat line.Â

Sophomore Darian Adams scored 15 points on 6-of-10 (60 percent) shooting from the field with four assists and two rebounds while sophomore Malik Burnett posted a career-high 10 points on a perfect 3-of-3 from the field.

Senior Jordon Varnado currently leads the league during conference action averaging 27.8 points and is second in conference play in shooting percentage at 57.7 percent.

On the season, Varnado leads the Trojans averaging 21.5 points per game, highest in the Sun Belt Conference on 52.6 percent shooting while grabbing 7.8 rebounds per game, sixth-most in conference.

Senior Alex Hicks paces the team in rebounds per game (7.9) which is the fifth-most in conference while shooting 53.7 percent (110-205), third-highest in Sun Belt. Adams leads the team in assists per game averaging 3.3.

Arkansas State fell just short in a 70-62 loss to South Alabama on Thursday night. The loss put the Red Wolves at 10-13 on the season and 4-6 in conference action.

In the game, senior Tristin Walley posted a double double in 16 points and 11 rebounds alongside four assists, two blocks and a steal. Senior Ty Cockfield also poured in 16 points.Â

On the season, Cockfield leads the team with 20.8 points per game, fourth in conference. In conference only action, Cockfield is averaging 21 points per contest, also fourth in Sun Belt.
