Troy Announces Baseball Alumni Weekend

 TROY, Alabama – Troy Athletics and the Trojan baseball team have set this year's Alumni Weekend for March 8-10 as the squad hosts North Alabama in a three-game, non-conference series.

All former players, coaches and managers are invited back to be honored with a weekend full of activities for themselves and their families. Prior to the game on Saturday, March 9, all baseball alumni will be honored on the field with a special recognition. Additionally, all returning baseball alumni and their families will have access to the Guardian Triple Play Patio during Saturday's game with complimentary refreshments.

As part of this weekend, members of the 1979 team will be acknowledged for the 40-year anniversary of its remarkable season. This team was the first under the direction of legendary coach Chase Riddle. The 1979 Trojans won a then-school record 33 games and reeled off a 20-game winning streak that still stands as the longest in school history.

Also being honored that weekend is the 1984 squad for its 35-year anniversary. The '84 team broke the school record for wins with 39 and finished third at the NCAA Division II College World Series. This team also broke or tied 76 school records under Coach Riddle.

Returning alumni will be able to request up to four complimentary tickets for immediate family members to attend all three games of the series.
