Trojans Primed For Pivotal Divisional Matchup

Troy, Ala. – Troy returns to Trojan Arena for a pivotal divisional matchup against in-state rival South Alabama Friday at 6:30 p.m. Troy will recognize its seniors approximately 10 minutes before first serve.
The Trojans and Jaguars are currently tied atop the Sun Belt East Division standings, each with a 10-3 mark in league play this year. Also at stake is Troy's 15-match home win streak, tied for the seventh-longest active streak in the nation.

Trojan Storylines
The Jaguars defeated the Trojans in three sets earlier this season behind 12 kills from Kelley Hartman and Hannah Harris. Hartman leads the conference in hitting percentage this season, averaging .384 on the year. As a team, the Jags are hitting .245, the second-best clip in the league. Troy, however, is holding opposing teams to an average hitting percentage of .169 this season. South Alabama was physical at the net in the teams' first matchup, finishing with 12 total blocks.

Trojan Storylines
- Troy (20-5, 10-3) and South Alabama (19-8, 10-3) are tied at the top of the East Division with Coastal Carolina (19-5, 9-3) just a half-match behind. All three teams play each other once over the final two weeks of conference play.
- Troy checked in at No. 71 in this week's NCAA Volleyball RPI rankings, the highest in school history.
- The Trojans are 21-5 (10-3 Sun Belt) under third-year head coach Josh Lauer. Troy's 21 wins this season are the most in the Lauer era and are tied for the most by a Trojan team this century (2012, 21-12). This marks just the sixth 20-win season in program history.
- Troy is one win away from breaking the record for most conference wins in a season (2012, 10 wins). The Trojans are also chasing their 22nd win of the year which would be the most since 1995 (27-11).
- Amara Anderson garnered Sun Belt setter of the Week honors for the fifth time this season. She is fifth in the country in total assists (1,056) and sixth nationally in assists per set (11.48). Both stats lead the Sun Belt. She now has the seventh-most career assists in school history (2,273).
- Cheyenne Hayes moved to eighth on Troy's all-time kills list with 1,069 career kills. The junior is third in the league, averaging 3.96 kills/set this season.
