TROY, Ala. – No. 22 Appalachian State defeated Troy, 48-13, Friday evening in Sun Belt Conference action at Veterans Memorial Stadium to spoil the Trojans' Senior Day.

The Mountaineers (11-1, 7-1 Sun Belt) jumped out to a 20-3 lead in the first quarter and carried a 34-13 advantage into the break over the homestanding Trojans (5-7, 3-5).

In his final game behind center for Troy, Kaleb Barker completed 25-of-41 passes for 281 yards to finish the season with 3,687 passing yards and 3,765 yards of total offense, the third and second most in a season in Troy history, respectively.

Barker completed multiple passes to eight different receivers with Reggie Todd's five catches for 82 yards leading the way. DK Billingsley scored Troy's lone touchdown of the game with his 10^th rushing score of the season.

Zac Thomas threw four touchdown passes to lead App State as he completed 28 passes for 326 yards. Thomas Hennigan pulled down 11 receptions for 140 yards while Malik Williams caught a pair of scores. Darrynton Evans, the Sun Belt's leading rusher, found the end zone twice on his 13 carries.

Sophomore Carlton Martial continued to be a bright spot for Troy's defense as he finished the game with 13 tackles and two stops behind the line. It was his seventh game with double-digit tackles, and he finished the season with 126 total stops, the most by a Trojan since 2000. His 18.5 tackles for loss on the year tied for the fifth most in Troy history.

Troy's season comes to a close with the loss while App State will host Louisiana next Saturday in the Sun Belt Conference Championship Game.

• Troy won the toss (5-7) and elected to receive the opening kickoff; Troy received the opening kickoff in 9-of-12 games this season.

• Troy's final average attendance for the season was 23,499 over the six home games, which ranks as the third most in stadium history.

• Kaleb Barker finished the season with 3,765 yards of total offense to finish second on the Troy single-season list behind Levi Brown's 4,261 in 2009.

• Kaleb Barker 299 completions for the season were the fourth most in Troy history and his 3,628 yards the third most, while his 30 touchdown passes are third most. Barker averaged 302.3 yards per game through the air, the second most in school history.

• Kaleb Barker finished his career with 402 completions, the seventh most in school history, and 4,793 passing yards, the seventh most in school history. His 41 career touchdown passes rank as the fifth most in Troy history.

• Kaylon Geiger caught three passes for 27 yards in the game; he finished the season with 77 receptions, which is third on the Troy single-season list with Jerrel Jernigan.

• Carlton Martial finished with 13 tackles for his seventh double-digit tackle game of the season and finished the season with 126. Martial's tackle total is the most by a Troy player since Naazir Yamini's 129 in 2000 -- his total is the 13th most in Sun Belt history.

• Carlton Martial recorded two tackles for a loss in the game and finished the season with 18.5 -- the fifth most in Troy history and most since 2010. It was his sixth game this season with multiple tackles for loss this season.

• Troy has 68 interceptions since the start of the 2016 season, which is the most in the country.

• Troy forced one turnover in the game to push its total to 103 since the start of the 2016 season, which is the most in the country.

• Tyler Sumpter made one extra point on the night and now made all 125 in his career.
