Troy, Ala. – Troy men's basketball will wrap up its mini three-game homestand with a Sun Belt Conference matchup against Appalachian State. Tip is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

The Trojans (7-6) snapped their four-game win streak with a loss to Coastal Carolina, 88-75, on Thursday night inside of Trojan Arena. Junior Charles Norman led the Trojans with a career-high tying 16 points including a career-high seven free throws while senior BJ Miller posted 12 points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Junior Devante Foster notched his first start and scored a career-high 11 points with five rebounds and three blocks, all of which were his career highs.Â

On the season, senior Jordon Varnado leads the Trojans averaging 17.3 points per game, eighth in the Sun Belt Conference while senior Alex Hicks paces the team in rebounds per game (8.0) which is the fourth-most in conference while pouring in 12.2 points per game.Â

Hicks leads Troy and is second in conference shooting 53.2 percent (66-124). Senior BJ Miller paces Troy averaging 3.2 assists per game with averaging 11.3 points.Â

Appalachian State suffered a 79-73 loss to South Alabama in its Sun Belt opener. In the game, four Mountaineers notched double figures led by senior Ronshad Shabazz with a game-high tying 21 points with five assists and three rebounds while junior Isaac Johnson scored 14 points with six boards, an assist and a pair of blocks.

Shabazz leads the team averaging 19.7 points per game, fifth-most in conference. Johnson is nearly averaging a double double in 10.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

- Saturday's contest marks the 11th meeting between the teams. App State holds a 7-3 advantage in the series with both teams splitting wins last year. Troy won the last meeting between the teams inside Trojan Arena, 81-79, on Jan. 22, 2018.

In the last meeting, Troy stuggled from the field, shooting 27.6 percent (16-of-58) and snapped its four-game winning streak with a 65-54 loss in Boone, N.C. on Feb. 17, 2018. Then-junior Jordon Varnado posted a stellar stat line in 30 points, 13 rebounds with a block, marking the only Troy player to notch double figures.
