Â
TROY, Alabama – Troy Athletics will open the doors to The Vet on Wednesday, Feb. 6, for the annual Football National Signing Day Party in the Stadium Club beginning at 6 p.m. Fans can join the celebration of Troy's record signing class and have an opportunity to meet head coach Chip Lindsey and his staff.
Â
"We're fired up about the recruiting class," Lindsey said. "Our coaches have been on the road more than they've been in Troy since coming on board working hard to close out this class. Between the guys who signed during the early period and the guys who will sign in February, this has a chance to be a really special group. We're looking forward to a packed Stadium Club on Signing Day to celebrate this class and for our staff to meet Trojan Nation."
Â
The event is open to the public and features food, drinks and a cash bar. Fans will be treated to highlight videos on the newest additions to the program and coaches will provide an inside look at the recruiting process.Â
Â
Troy's signing class already ranks as the best in the Sun Belt Conference according to 247Sports with an average rating of 82.06, which tops the 81.02Â rating of the 2018 class for the best in school history. The Trojans signed 17 players during the initial period including 12 three-star prospects and three players ranked in the top 10 nationally at their position.Â
Â
Troy return eight starters on offense and seven starters on defense from its 10-win team a year ago and 15 players who earned All-Sun Belt honors. Looking to get a jumpstart on filling in for some of the departures, six of the newest additions are already on campus for the spring semester in addition to Texas A&M running back transfer Charles Strong.
Â
Troy opens its first spring practice under Lindsey on March 19 and officially kicks off the season on Aug. 31 against Campbell in The Vet.
