Troy Sweeps Alabama State in Mid-Week Action

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – In its final non-conference match of the season, Troy traveled to Alabama State and swept the Hornets, 3-0, Tuesday night at Lockhart Hall.

After a tight, 25-20 first-set win, the Trojans came out on fire in the second set – jumping out to a 17-4 advantage. Troy didn't let up after that, closing out a 25-9 victory to go up 2-0 for the match.

Bama State – fueled by a rowdy Hornet crowd – didn't go down lightly in the third set. ASU led 9-3 before the Trojans rallied to even things at 12 apiece. Troy powered its way to the match win behind four of Cheyenne Hayes' game-high 14 kills.

Libero Lacey Jeffcoat posted a three-set, career-high 19 digs in the match – tied for the fourth most in three sets by any player in the Sun Belt this season. Jeffcoat's freshman counterpart Amara Anderson recorded 33 assists and
