Troy Travels to Murfreesboro for Blue Raider Bash

TROY, Ala. – Troy volleyball is headed north to Murfreesboro, Tenn., as it looks to continue its winning ways at the Blue Raider Bash hosted by Middle Tennessee Friday and Saturday.

The Trojans (2-1) will face off with Stetson Friday at 4 p.m., then follow with MTSU and Austin Peay Saturday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.

A few solid veteran performances coupled with strong play from the newest of Trojans helped lead the squad to a runner-up finish in the Troy Invitational at Trojan Arena last weekend – defeating Southern and Southeastern Louisiana in straight sets.

Cheyenne Hayes led the club with 33 points on the weekend, including eight service aces (.89 per set). Her ace total ranks ninth nationally and the average is 13^th – both are tops in the Sun Belt.

As a team, the Trojans rank first in the league in aces per set (2.33) and second with a .287 hitting percentage. Junior Jenni Young's .400 attacking percentage is a team-best and is the sixth best in the conference.
