TROY, Ala. – Several former Trojans have been making a reputation for themselves at the minor league level over the past few weeks.
Matt Sanders made his way up to Double-A Arkansas Travelers in the Seattle Mariners organization for a short stint this week. In his lone start for the Travelers, he went 1-for-4 with a double in a 10-6 win over the Tulsa Drillers.
Reliever CJ Carter made his longest appearance of his professional career for Class A Short Season Batavia Wednesday night. Carter earned the win after fanning five batters in three innings of one-hit work as the Muckdogs topped the Williamsport Crosscutters.
A couple others have had multi-game hit streaks in recent weeks. Brandon Lockridge (Class A Staten Island) saw a five-game hitting streak come to an end Thursday – he was 7-for-18 with a homer, a triple, a double and five RBI over that time frame. Meanwhile, Logan Hill (Double-A Altoona) had an eight-game streak end Monday – collecting 10 RBI on 10 hits over the span.
