Three Trojans Named to ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team

TROY, Alabama – Three Trojans were named to the ABCA/Rawlings Division I Central All-Region team on Wednesday, the organization announced.
Joey Denison was named to the first team while Drew Frederic and Matt Sanders were tagged as second team selections. Andrew Crane was selected to the second team last season.
Denison, the Sun Belt Player of the Year, led the team and the conference in batting average, doubles, RBI and several other batting categories this season. He set the school's single-season RBI record with 81 this season, which ranks second nationally.His 97 hits rank seventh in the country and are the fourth-most by any player in school history; while his .393 batting average puts him in the top 10 of all Division I players.
Denison, a Troy-native, is the program's first All-American since Reid Long was selected to the freshman team in 2015 – the first upperclassman since 2013. He was named an all-conference first teamer last week and became the first player of the year since Adam Bryant in 2011.
Sanders – the school's record-holder in career and single-season runs scored, career at-bats and single-season games played – was chosen as the 298th pick in the draft by the Seattle Mariners.The senior, a native of Madison, Ala., was the nation's top run-scorer with 90 in 2018 and was selected to the All-Sun Belt Second Team and the conference's all-tournament team due to his efforts. He finished the year with 99 hits, just shy of becoming the third player in school history to reach the 100-hit threshold.
Frederic hit 20 doubles on the season ranking second in the Sun Belt. He also swiped a team-high 28 bases good enough for 20thin the nation and most in the league. Frederic hit .331 on the season and led the team with seven home runs including two in the Athens NCAA Regional.
