TROY, Alabama – Troy baseball is on the road to Monroe, La., where it will square off with ULM in its final regular season road series of 2018; first pitch in the opener is set for 6 p.m., 2 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. in the finale.

Troy (32-17, 14-10) was on the wrong side of a heart-breaking, extra-inning loss against Mississippi State its last time out. The Trojans rallied for four runs to take the lead in the top of the ninth inning before dropping the game in the 10th.

The Sun Belt's top-hitting team tallied 12 hits in the midweek matchup, with over half of that production coming from two veterans and a rookie – Joey Denison, Matt Sanders and Rigsby Mosley.

Denison, who leads the league in batting average, hits, RBIs and doubles, drove in three more runs and Sanders, who leads the country in runs, scored twice in the contest – both turned in multi-hit games. Meanwhile, the freshman Mosley continued his breakout season with his sixth three-hit game of 2018 and drove in the game-tying run on an 0-2 pitch with one out in the top of the ninth inning.

On the mound, coach Mark Smartt will call on the same three starters with a slight shakeup. RHP Andrew Crane (4-4, 3.47), RHP Levi Thomas (1-0, 1.23) and RHP Daren Osby (5-1, 4.82) will start games one, two and three, respectively.

The Warhawks (22-25, 10-14) are coming off a big series sweep of Georgia State last weekend and have won four straight, overall. The reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Gino Marucci and the seventh-best batter in the conference, Johnny DeLaCruz, will lead ULM in the set.
