Troy Renews Jax State Rivalry on Miracle League Night

TROY, Alabama – The 143rd rendition of the Troy/Jacksonville State baseball rivalry is set to take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the confines of Riddle-Pace Field; the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
In conjunction, Troy Athletics is hosting players from the local Miracle League for a game Monday night and will honor them prior to Troy baseball's midweek contest.
The Trojans (30-14) enter the contest following a Sun Belt series victory over UT Arlington. The hero of the weekend was redshirt freshman Rigsby Mosley who was responsible for the game-winning hits in both of Troy's win – a late-inning grand slam in the opener and a walk-off RIB single to clinch the series Saturday.
On the mound, Troy will go with LHP Max Newton (2-0, 1.65) for the start in the rivalry matchup. Newton's last appearance came against Alabama and the sophomore pitched four innings of scoreless, one-hit work.
Troy and Jacksonville State (23-17) met earlier in season at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala., and the Trojans escaped with a 16-13 win – utilizing the first of two 10-run innings that week.
