TROY, Alabama – Troy baseball closes its five-game road trip with an in-state showdown against Alabama Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Sewell-Thomas Stadium; the game will be broadcast live on SEC Network+.

The Trojans (28-12) are riding a five-game winning streak after two midweek wins and a sweep of conference foe Arkansas State in Jonesboro this past weekend.

Offensive firepower wasn't lacking for Troy as it racked up 49 total runs and double-digit hits in all five of the games – including setting a new season-high with 23 hits in Saturday's finale. The squad has also broken the school single-season record with 21 triples in 2018.

Senior Joey Denison became the first Trojan to reach the 50-RBI threshold since 2013 with six runs driven in this week; and Matt Sanders scored eight runs to move to 55 on the season, the second-most nationally.

Two-way player Sadler Goodwin (3-2, 4.94) will start the game on the mound for coach Mark Smartt and Troy – who currently leads the conference with a 3.78 team ERA.

The Trojans and the Crimson Tide (22-20) have met in Tuscaloosa 18 times in history, with Bama holding the advantage 14-4 there and 21-11 overall. The two last met in Troy on April 4, 2017, and Troy walked-off Bama with a 12-11 win.
