KENNESAW, Georgia – Eva Fabricius-Bjerre fired Troy's seventh-best 36-hole total of the season to lead the Trojans in Monday's opening two rounds of the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate at the Pinetree Golf Course; Troy sits in eighth place as a team.
Fabricius-Bjerre shot a 151 over the two rounds highlighted by a 2-over 74 in the second round. Her 75.50 average was more than two strokes lower than the course average of 77.66 for the day. She carded a pair of birdies in the second round and avoided a big number through all 36 holes to finish the day in 20th place overall.
Bianca Lohbauer is three shots behind her teammate in a tie for 30th place after shooting a 154 with a 76 and 78. She opened the day with three birdies to shoot her round of 4-over. Lindsey Harrison shot 13-over on Monday to sit tied for 37th and Antonia Poate is tied for 39th at 14-over.
Troy's 619 is tied for its third-best 36-hole total of the season and has the Trojans within striking distance of moving up a couple spots as they trail Virginia Tech by just eight shots. No. 19 Kent State holds a 5-shot lead over No. 40 Ole Miss.
Playing as an individual, Bria Jansen is tied for 46th place at 17-over through two rounds, while Sarah Harrison is tied for 48th place at 18-over.
Another shotgun start is on the table for Tuesday's final round. Troy will play along with Sun Belt rival Georgia Southern and Delaware beginning on holes 10 thru 13 at 8 a.m. (CT).
